Ryan Trebilcock

Ryan Trebilcock is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer and arranger and with a focus on media composition. His music has been used on networks NBC, Discovery and E! amongst others.

Ryan hails from the picturesque village of Tregony, in Cornwall, England. As a youngster, he was given the chance to learn classical guitar in his local school, and realised immediately that music would become his life’s ambition. Taking up the electric bass at 15, he was soon offered a place in the jazz programme at the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire, on the condition he learned to play the double bass. Since graduating, he has worked steadily, performing in many venues such as The Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and Kings Place as well as world tours in Australia, New Zealand and China.

Composition

As a music composer over the years, his background in jazz, rock and popular music has enabled Ryan to form musical compositions that feature strong use of harmony space and rhythmic diversity. Developing an interest in music for video games, film and television, he has more recently turned to media composition. He is proficient in music production technology, primarily using Logic Pro X to quickly produce professional music.

Ryan has recently worked on the indie game “Mow Problems'“ by Tredaria Games and his music can be heard on the upcoming game “Slime’s Journey”. He also writes for the music publishers MIBE Music, Jingle Punks, Evolution Media Music and Scorekeepers amongst others. His music has been used on the networks NBC, Discovery and E! as well as other tv shows.

In his career as a professional jazz bassist, he has, among many others, performed regularly with Peter King, Stacey Kent and Clark Tracey. He has also played with the folk musicians Jim Moray and Hannah Rose Platt. Live radio performances on BBC Radio 3 include with Trish Clowes, Reem Kelani, Gareth Lockrane and Hannes Riepler. Album appearances include Hannes Riepler ‘The Brave’, Gareth Lockrane Big Band ‘Fistfight at the Barndance’,  Andre Canniere ‘Coalescence’, and Reem Kelani ‘Live at the Tabernacle’.

TEstimonials

Ryan is an excellent music composer! I really enjoyed his style, especially chip tune, which was the style of music I chose for my game. He is a brilliant composer, because his compositions are really high quality! This is why I recommend his awesome music.

Juliano Ferreira de Lima, Indie Game Developer

Not only is Ryan clearly very talented, he is a pleasure to do business with, Ryan’s interpretation of the game, in music form, compliments the atmosphere wonderfully.

Matt, Tredaria Games
